Comentarios: Woody Allen nació en el barrio de Brooklyn bajo el nombre de Allan Stewart Konigsberg. Durante su infancia estudió en una escuela hebrea y también asistió a clases de violín, aunque con el paso de los años optó por el clarinete, instrumento que aún sigue tocando.
La primera aproximación de Woody Allen con el cine se produjo cuando tenía 3 años; por aquel entonces su madre lo llevó a ver la película “Blancanieves y los siete enanitos” y fue tal la emoción que sintió el pequeño Woody que salió corriendo a tocar la pantalla para ver si podía alcanzar a los personajes.
A Woody Allen nunca le gustó estudiar y siempre se mostró como un joven introvertido, aunque siempre se destacaba en las redacciones escolares y todo aquello que tuviese que ver con el humor. Con 16 años cumplidos comenzó formalmente su carrera como humorista, pero siempre vinculado a otros profesionales del humor.
Woody Allen ingresó a la Universidad de New York para estudiar Producción cinematográfica, pero abandonó el curso porque no le resultaba atractivo. Pese a esto no dejó de lado su pasión por el séptimo arte y en 1969 logra rodar su primera película, llamada “Take the money and run”, totalmente escrita y dirigida por él. La película fue un verdadero éxito y marcó el comienzo de una extensa carrera que lo tuvo delante y detrás de cámaras.
